It goes without saying that Overland Expo West is the must-attend event for anybody who is an off-road and expedition enthusiast. The whose who of brands, influencers, and professionals are all in attendance and making a splash with new products and innovations.
This year was one of the best that we’ve participated in. Located, for the second year, at For Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, AZ it is not uncommon to experience 100°f one day and snow the next, so we were lucky to experience incredible weather the entire show.
One of the key markers of the event for us was the introduction of our Chevy Colorado ZR2 line. We brought down our 2017 Duramax ZR2 equipped with pre-production CBI Armor and a Prinsu Cabrack.
The front of the ZR2 featured our vision for a front winch and light bar mount. We equipped this little beauty with a Warn Zeon winch and a Baja Designs 30” LED bar with the amber lens. One key feature of the front winch mount is the integration of the factory ZR2 skid plate design.
Although our front winch mount stole the show we also had an all-new direct bolt-on rear bumper with a single swing-arm. Replacing the factory plastic rear bumper with this steel option adds addition strength when on a tight departure angle. Dragging, bumping, and beating this is what it is built for. The addition of a swing arm to any of our rear bumpers is a must have for your well-equipped expedition build, no matter the vehicle.
As for the bed of the ZR2 we added one of our most popular Tacoma products, the Overland Bed Rack, this 3/4 height Bedrack is perfect for storing a rooftop tent at a lower height while retaining use of your bed.
Since the conclusion of Overland Expo West we have been working hard to bring all of our ZR2 products to market. We pride ourselves on our design and build quality. We are excited to continually release options for the new Colorado and ZR2. Check out our website HERE to see what we have for your truck!
The ZR2 wasn’t the only truck that we brought down with us, we also had our 2015, 5th Generation, 4Runner. This is the vehicle that made waves the previous year at Overland Expo West when we released the T4R5 Premium Front Bumper. This design is one of our greatest accomplishments. We worked tirelessly to incorporate the complicated front end design on the stock 4Runner, and a year later we are happy to say that it is one of the most popular options available for the 4Runner.
From our perspective the 4Runner is one of the key platforms for an expedition build. We have taken ours into some extreme conditions and been happy to support our friends at Expedition Overland take theirs to across countless boarders and through some of the roughest terrain this world could throw at them. If you are debating the Toyota 4Runner for your expeditions build we have a full suite of products that will make it the ultimate overland build.
